We hoped to see the beautiful colours of the blooming heather.

But as soon as when we reached the moor, rain clouds covered the sun.

This amazing swallowtail caterpillar is feasting on the Daucus carota plant.
We have quite a few of them in our garden. Caterpillars as well as plants :)

The caterpillar is getting a bit tatty by the intensive use and washing.

If you might know where I can buy a similar caterpillar, I would love to hear it!

't Zwin

 Yesterday we went to the Belgian side of nature reserve 't Zwin.

Due to the work in progress reshaping the visitors centre
and the reserve we had to go to the Dutch side. 

And it's so good to be back again! You can read my earlier posts here and here.

Despite the weather forecast we enjoyed a bright blue sky with few clouds.

 Here we're still in the Netherlands.

And here, after we crossed the tidal inlet, back on Belgian territory :)

We have been dreaming about our own milk cow for a long time.

Yesterday we finally bought one. Although it's not the breed we had in mind ;)

We both felt an urge to visit the flea market in Tongeren again :)

Piet Hein Eekhoorn has been visiting our hazel today.
