Decay

I can't help feeling sorry for the loss of this beautiful squirrel.

I just love red squirrels and I treasure the few encounters. 

You could easily be fooled and assume this squirrel is only sleeping...

but I can assure you this one won't wake up again.

In autumn everything seems to sink into decay, it seems to be the season of melancholy.

This dead mouse must be a victim from the feral cats. I'm so sorry it's a shrew!

Wednesdaynight my uncle died. What can I say...............

He became 81, he had a beautiful life, he had childeren and grandchildren.

His wife made it possible for him to stay at home until the end.

Although his death made an end to his suffering and
you rationally know he and his family are better of now,
it's still a great loss!

Death

Last saturday we found a greenfinch (Carduelis chloris) on our driveway.

We feed the birds sunflower seeds and normally we see only fat and healthy birds.

This is the first dead bird. It could be a virus, it might be attacked by a strange cat
(not ours, because ours is too old and only outside when we are) or perhaps it hit a window.
We can only guess what happened..........
