Brussels Design Market

To my big surprise we went to Brussels Design Market!
We bought our preview tickets in March but the event got cancelled twice.
This time a much smaller selection of vintage design and less visitors.

vintage doggy.....

A beautiful graphic design by Walter Cremers...

I really liked the pattern on a ceramic plate... made by Egersund Norway

Never Enough

We already had quite a few nest boxes...

You can my earlier posts here:

but there's enough space left for a couple more...

We've added several common starling bird pots... the opening is 45 mm

the one with the smaller opening (35 mm) is a sparrow pot

new "terra potta" on the side, weathered wooden swift boxes on the front facade...

Bird Pot

In the early days ceramic bird pots were used to harvest young birds to eat them.

We are only trying to provide some extra nesting opportunities.
There are terracotta bird pots with different sized openings.
Our first ceramic pot is for great tit, blue tit, sparrow
or whatever bird decides to come and live with us...

Vintage Volcanic

We both like this vintage seventies plate. It's such a nice portrait of the era.
A moon landing inspired, lunar surfaced, ceramic with volcanic glaze.

Art Nouveau

In the company of a good friend I visited the Art Nouveau exhibition in The Hague.
I just love to be surrounded with beauty and it was certainly worth the visit!!!
Below some of my favourite objects...

Jurriaan Kok - sugar bowl and Mocca pot (1902) painted egg shell porcelain

Theo Nieuwenhuis - clover and clover with roots (ca. 1900) paint on paper

Chris Lebeau - pike perch study (ca. 1900) pencil and ink on paper

Chris Lanooy - vase with underwater scene (1906-1907)
painted earthenware with luster glaze

Theo Colenbrander - four-piece garniture Day and Night (1885)

Cornelia van der Hart - vase (ca. 1903-1907)
glazed earthenware with sgraffito decoration

and another work from
Chris Lebeau - study after a cross-cut of a red cabbage (ca. 1896-1899)

this study resulted in a gorgeous patterned corduroy textile and bench...

Carnivore

(It's almost too dark to taken photos inside the house)
Our Nepenthes really appreciates the extra humidity in the kitchen
produced by the quooker tap and some kenderman cooking.
