Last Sunday we visited the Natural History Museum of Maastricht

as long as I remember my family searched and found lots of small shark teeth fossils

one of my favourites of the day... the Lynx

 Not for the faint-hearted!

And don't get me wrong... I do prefer living animals

but I'm fascinated by the mummies...

Another piece of art by nature...

What a magnificent room!!! Windows surround us...
I could live here happily ever after (big smile)

Armhuis

Today a diner for two at the Armhuis...

Several courses of delicious food and wine...

We ate the smelt appetizer with skin and hair (smile)

followed by a beetroot infused appetizer croquette...
we couldn't help thinking of good friends and much better tasting "bitterballen"

the next courses were really tasty...

Piet Hein Eek

One of my old time favourite designers is Piet Hein Eek.

His business, located in a former industrial Philips building, is worthwhile a visit.

I can recommend a nice lunch and a stroll through the showroom.

Quick Prayer

Last night my mother was taken to hospital.

Her scans don't look good.

And although I'm not religious, I say a quick prayer...

Idyllic

Yesterday we visited an idyllic rural village close to the place we both grew up in

14 months ago I discovered this old and compact chocolatebox house was for sale...

but I just could't persuade the kenderman to move.

There are some similar houses in the village.... so I keep dreaming...

I'll just have to convince the kenderman lots of musquitos aren't that bad! ☺︎
