Piet Hein Eek

One of my old time favourite designers is Piet Hein Eek.

His business, located in a former industrial Philips building, is worthwhile a visit.

I can recommend a nice lunch and a stroll through the showroom.

Kazerne

Today I have been visiting kazerne with a colleague.

PHE

Me and my mum went to Piet Hein Eek today. You can see more photo's here.

PHE is one of my favourite Dutch designers for a long time because of his use of scrapwood.

I guess I discovered him in the early nineties.
Not being able to afford his scrapwooden cupboard then.

 In 2003 when the kenderman and I got married we bought one chair and some time later a second one.

Five years later we bought our first house and after a while a PHE scrapwooden cupboard.

 I'm so glad we're still enjoying our house, our cupboard
and (smile) most importantly each other's company :)
Last year we sold the PHE chairs to be able to buy a vintage Eames chair.
I'm a so called design victim ;)

Monday Morning

Life can be tough.......... especially on a monday morning :)

Happy Easter II

 Today we passed Eindhoven so I asked the kenderman to go to the Narcissus drifts again.

At that time the sun was still shining and I was really hoping I could show you a better photo.

When I arrived, the sun was covered by an enormous cloud and two minutes later it was snowing again!

Happy Easter

This morning I parked my car on my way to work. 

I should have had my camera with me yesterday.

The sun was shining then and these waves of Narcissus were glowing.

Take A Break

I work in the city centre of Eindhoven.

My work is quite hectic and there is a lack of fresh air. 

Since a couple of weeks I walk to the park when I have my lunch break.

The sound of running water and the fresh air are so much more energizing
than rushing through the main shopping street.

PHE

One of my favourite designers is Piet Hein Eek.

Some people might think it's just a lot of over-priced rubbish but I love his furniture of reclaimed wood.

Concert

Last night we went to a great concert in Eindhoven.

It was promised to be the concert of the year.

One of the musicians, Sufjan Stevens, is one of our favourites.

Other musicians were Bryce Desner, Nico Mulhy, the Navarra String Quartet and the New Trombone Collective.

Although it was the première and you could sometimes see and hear the nervousness, it was an incredible concert!
