All Flowers in Time

"All flowers in time bend towards the sun
I know you say that there's no-one for you
But here is one, here is one, here is one"

A beautiful song from 1995:

All Flowers In Time Bend Towards The Sun

Plant Nursery Time

We visited nursery Bastin with my parents-in-law, more than 25 years ago.

Later we visited regularly, once or twice a year.

Due to covid it stopped and now, after 5 years, we returned.

Oh oh, three trays filled already...

While the kenderman was searching for plants, I had a stroll around the nursery...

and was almost immediately accompanied by a new friend...
(it's two strangers on the photo above, not us)

My adorable new friend...

... waiting for me while I was taking photo's ♥︎

Only after our 'fruitful' visit we read:

"... wij hebben alles al" we don't need anything more, we have it all

We should have seen this text earlier! (smile)

Fern Expedition

Last Sunday we visited quarry 't Rooth for a fern "expedition".
The kenderman is a member of the Dutch Fern society and I was allowed to join them.
The weather was perfect and the group was small...

Our guide had the key to this abandoned quarry.
This area is closed of and managed by the Limburgs Landschap.

a not so rare but (to me) very beautiful chalk loving Asplenium trichomanes
(link in English and Dutch)

Polystichum aculeatum a.k.a. hard shield-fern (link in English and Dutch)

a rare and to me a new thistle : Carlina vulgaris (link in Dutch)

a to me new Dipsacus: Dipsacus pilosus (link in Dutch)

Asplenium ceterach aka Rustyback (link in English and Dutch)

And just before we split up... some giveaways to whoever interested in ferns.

We All Need Our "Eigen Stekje"

The Dutch word for a cutting "stekje" has a second meaning in Dutch :
"eigen plek" or "thuis", translated your "own place" or "home" in English.
So "We All Need Our "Eigen Stekje" means "We All Need Our Own Place".
I really hope everyone of you has a save place right now!

Although I should have more time to be more productive, my life has slow down.
We spend so much more time in the garden and outside than we normally do.
I enjoy having more time to relax, reflect and spend more time with the kenderman & cats.
I prefer to be able to meet with family and friends, even colleagues (smile)...
but I'm so glad we're both lucky enough to be able to work from home!
The kenderman just loves to see me multiplying ferns (big smile)

Keep your distance, hang in there, hold on and love one another!
