Comforting

Right now a lot of people have feelings of anxiety...

You can find some comfort by listening to your favourite music, looking at
a nice painting or sculpture, reading a beautiful poem or book etc.
It will reduce your stress levels immediately.

In our brain experiencing beauty is connected to "trust"
and therefore to the belief everything is going to be okay.

It might take some practice if your not used to see beauty in "normal" things.
If you really try you can find beauty everywhere around you!

Take care of yourself and the ones around you and be save!

Stormy Weather

Lately we've been in "stormy weather"...

Perhaps you've noticed my posts become fewer and more irregular.

It's been seven years since I started this blog.

The last year was a difficult and time-consuming year.

I'm not sure what I want to do now.

I hope you want to hang in there,

it ain't over yet!

Autumn Arrives

Coming home on a weekday we might be able to catch the last sunrays on our terrace

Siësta

Most of our ferns are wilting due to the warm weather and ongoing drought.

While watering with a water can, I suddenly spotted a visitor.

Pan is having a siësta. I think I should follow his example ☺︎

While he was strolling through the long grass, I sat down and waited...

I scared the living daylights out of Pan when he jumped out of the long grass!

For the first time we grow a pepper.

It was a gift from a friend who brought the seed from Romania.

We have one big pepper, several small peppers and a lots of small white flowers.

The peppers should mature from green to red.

Due to the internet: it's a mild pepper with a sweet and (apple-like) fruity flavor.

The body of the pots have some detectable heat, but the wings are sweet and mild.

Even I should be able to handle this pepper ☺︎

Woodwork

The brown diagonal is our pollarded common alder tree.
Being the oldest tree in our garden it took the first hit and
had to deal with the full weight of the fallen tree!

It probably saved our barn from getting damaged.

 Already we have a big pile of branches to despatch...

Only 1/3 of the fallen tree has been removed but the trunk laying on our alder

is still too heavy to remove. So we'll wait and see if time is on our side.

Hopefully evaporation is going to reduce the weight....

Save Haven

Today it's World Refugee Day.

A day to honor the men, women and childeren who must

flee their homes under threat of persecution and violence.

Everybody should have a save haven!

We have two enormous weeping willows at the end of our back garden.
The trees are incredible valuable for wildlife... and for us.
