Hex 2023

 

It was time for another visit to Hex, my favourite plant festival.

This time only a few photo's because we went there with friends.

Garden Festival Hex

Finally we visited Garden Festival Hex again!

Having to choose from an enormous variety of plants...
and delicious smoked onions and garlic, its a tough job!

I instantly relax... looking at grazing, ruminating and tail waving cattle...

but only then when they can take shelter to rain and scorching sun!

Lots of beautiful antique garden tools from England...

Again we had a really nice day at Hex! 

Perhaps we'll go back in september... and otherwise we'll be back next spring.

Hex

On Sunday afternoon we went to Chateau Hex to visit the festival of rare plants.

If only you could have smelled this!

Lots of different cultivars garlic, shallots and onions... some of them smoked...

We bought some smoked shallots.... my apologies to Madame for taking a few photos

Each year we like to visit the festival of rare plants at Hex castle.

Lots of special plants available....

and we like the Onion man

 Beautiful weather and a beautiful rose!

We sat down under the trees.

While leaving the parking....... we knew we would return some day :-)

Hex I

 Today we went to my favourite plant festival Hex.
We have been here many times and we like the parking (under the cherry trees).

Large Sycamore lane withe lots of exhibitors.

 Nice spot to eat a crêpe.

Sea Holly

I bought this Sea holly (aka Eryngium maritimum) two years ago at Hex.

It's an endangered species so don't take a plant from the wild.

This plant has never flowered but the colours of the leaves are gorgeous. 

Hex

 A delicious crêpe with goat's cheese, parma ham and alfalfa-sprouts.

And a glass of white wine.

Yesterday it was pretty cold, we had some rain and it was quite windy.

But we did have some sunshine and the surroundings were as good as ever.

We will be back next time.

The Jackdaws (aka Corvus monedula, kauw in Dutch) are foraging......

The kenderman has been scything again.
After (most of) the work has been done,
(it's better for the wildlife and for the KM :-) not to mow all the grass at once)
we're now on our way to Hex, festival of rare plants, roses and kitchen gardens.
