Dark

We have some dark Hellebores plants in our backyard. 

The flowers have a dark purple almost black colour.

In full sunlight the colour seems so much lighter.

Blackthorn

We spotted this blossoming Blackthorn during our walk on sunday.
The Blackthorn in our garden is still asleep :)

Spring

A blossoming Prunus dulcis branche at my windowsill

I could swear spring is in the air!

Temperatures are rising, birds are singing, plant and flower buds are swelling.
I have been seeing a brimstone butterfly (citroentje) although it's still
possible to get some severe frost and snow in March or April.

Another Rose

We bought ourselves a new rose,
Rosa "Little Butterfly".

Blossom

When we came home today, we noticed that the first flowers
of our pear trees must have opened during the daytime.

Eventually all the pink flowerbuds of our pear trees will transform in beautiful white flowers.
We planted these trees ourselves about 4 years ago and each year we are so glad we did!

Doesn't these flowers look stunning?

This plant had lots of lices in spring but we didn't act and just waited.

We definitely won't spray with chemicals, at the very most we will just use some water.

It started flowering in june and it will probably go on until october.

 My message for you:

don't rush and have a nice weekend!

Agapanthus

Agapanthus africanus alba (aka African lily)

The first Agapanthus flower bud is starting to become a beautiful flower.

Brothers and Cistus

The Cistus is flowering it's socks off !

Blue Poppy

Meconopsis Betonicifolia

You've seen these blue poppies before.

Flowering isn't gonna take much longer.

I have got six plants and two flower stems.

The whole plant, both foliage and especially the flower buds, are quite hairy.

These "redheads" will produce out of this world blue coloured flowers.
