The Day of the Armistice in Belgium commemorates the end of The First World War.
During WWI the Netherlands gave shelter to 1.000.000 Belgian refugees.
 Nowadays I feel ashamed when I see some rejections to take care of Syrian refugees.

I can only keep hoping for a worldwide ceasefire...

I suspect this is a Swiss army shoe polishing and sewing kit. 

In the little pocket I found several Swiss army buttons :)
Found it at a thrift shop for 12 Euros. Dates from around WW II.
 I just love it!
