Eye of the Butterfly

No Admiral

During haying the kenderman spotted the White Admiral.
He was so enthusiastic about this rare butterfly, I completely trusted his suggestion for a blogpost!
I should have double-checked ;)

Butterflies

I've seen several butterflies but it's so hard to photograph these fluttering animals.

Nectar Bar

Our Ivy is a real nectar bar.

Lots of bees, bumble bees, wasps, flies, hoverflies and even some butterflies are enjoying it.

Closing Time

  We all have our dark side

sometimes we're closed off 

but eventually we will open up and shine again!

I think this is the Common Blue (Lycaenidae Polyommatus icarus) in our backyard.

Weary Eyes

This butterfly must be exhausted by now, it landed next to my feet :-)

A Peacock butterfly hibernates over winter before laying it's eggs in early spring.

The light and plants indicate we are heading towards the autumn.

Because of the rising temperature we saw a lot of butterflies today.
This is a Meadow brown (aka Maniola jurtina, Bruin Zandoogje).

Our meadow is in full bloom right now.

We have drifts of buttercups and ragged-robin.
