Spring

A blossoming Prunus dulcis branche at my windowsill

I could swear spring is in the air!

Temperatures are rising, birds are singing, plant and flower buds are swelling.
I have been seeing a brimstone butterfly (citroentje) although it's still
possible to get some severe frost and snow in March or April.

Strolling through some old pics I found this picture in my archive.

I made this picture in February 2013 of our Salvia's hibernating in our conservatory.

This winter we haven't been having snow, serious cold and frost yet.

The treeferns, pelargoniums and Salvia's are really benefitting still being outside.

Place by the Sea

This is the place where I'll always go back.

When I was young, me, my brother and our parents spent our holidays here.

I always hoped our parents would buy a second home here.
Too bad they didn't.... yet. Mum and dad.... it's never too late! :))

I prefer the quiet autumn or winter time. It's so tranquil!
On several occasions we had the whole beach to ourselves.

A south wester storm makes it even more perfect.

Pollarding

Yesterday we've been pollarding some of our Willows......

You might question yourself what I've been doing.......

I've been catching branches, cutting up branches, stacking our wooded bank,

making coffee, making sandwiches and ........... taking pictures  :)

Snowdrops

We haven't had any snow yet but we do have some snowdrops.

When you watch closely you can see an early hoverfly or bee.

Gloomy

When you love nature, you'll find beauty everywhere.

And finally we have two new taps!

Because of the holes in the worktop we had two options. One tap and a soap pump or just two taps.

We decided we wanted two taps. One mixer tap and YES one tap providing boiling water.

Finally I can have an instant cup of tea :))

The fitters (handige Harrie's) busy doing their fine job.

Radio

Last sunday the kenderman played at the museum with some friends.

The kenderman loves making music and I love listening to it.
Tonight he and some friends are playing live on the radio.

 I'm at home, Nim is lying on my lap and we're listening to the radio......

Vicious

Hahaha.......Nim looks like a vicious gargoyle or gremlin :)

Weekend!

Time to stay up late, get up late, play with Nim a lot, read some interior magazines,

go for a walk, do some DIY and housekeeping and ....... slowdown :)
