Within Sight of Britain

Early waking up on Sunday, another nice view... the British coast!

After breakfast straight to the beach again...

the beautiful light and colours...

Due to the stormy weather the night before I found 53 egg capsules

We had to climb the dunes to escape from the tide coming in...

straight away trespassing on private property?!?

Britain in the background...

In the early afternoon blue skies at Cap Blanc Nez...

And after enjoying another delicious French meal, it's back to the beach again...

three beautiful common limpets... they own the strongest material on earth!

We really love the coast and the French country side
and hope to visit the Côte d'Opale again...

La Douce France

The stunning view from our hotelroom...

Back in August we decided to visit the French coast Côte d'Opale.
Longing to see Cap Gris-Nez and Cap Blanc-Nez for ourselves.
Hoping for some clear weather so we would be able to see the British coast.
Last weekend we finally went...

view from Cap Griz towards Cap Blanc

view at Wissant and Cap Blanc...

the black spots being surfers waiting to catch a nice wave...

Dogs love being on the beach but I doubt whether they like to sit in the mud...

Lots of action heroes at Wissant beach...

Who needs a beautician when you can get some free sandblasting? (smile)

being such a beautiful day full of stunning wide open views...

Chuffed!

In case you've been visiting my blog for a longer time,
you might know I'm a huge fan of artist Gerrit Neven.
You can find earlier posts: here and here.

Recently we were lucky enough to meet and talk to him again!

When we bought our fist watercolour from this artist,
I did mention I'm really fond of pollarded willows (smile).

And then unexpectedly we received an email... Gerrit Neven was
hesitating to say goodbye to his most favourite watercolour ever but...
he was probably also realising we would cherish the work in our living room
after having been the pièce de résistance in his living for quite some time.
Thankfully he thought of us, his Belgian admirers (big smile).

A couple of weeks later in the gallery...

a sneaky shot...

(I did ask permission to place this photo on the internet)
