What a beautiful and quiet spot this is... Maasvlakte 2 (Dutch: Tweede Maasvlakte)

In March the kenderman found a fossil tooth, we suspected it belonged to a horse.

We used the website: oervondstchecker.nl and it was confirmed.

The expert opinion: a molar from the upper right jaw of a horse.

In 2 years time, at several locations, we found 4 teeth at the beach...

Homesick for Vlieland

Vlieland is one of my happy places... sea, beach and quietness...

I just love secluded beaches... a peaceful stroll in solitude...

a bit of beachcombing...

in the evening a delicious diner for two at the Armhuis

followed by another day of cycling, walking and searching (smile)

The kenderman is taking shelter here.

The strong wind made it almost impossible to set foot on the Vliehors.

you can't tell but the wind was fierce!

On our way back to the cottage I spotted some Soay sheep in the dunes.

And on Monday we arrived back to the mainland.

We'll go back to Vlieland (over and over) again...

Old Habits Die Hard

Perhaps you remember how much I love this beautiful coastal area,
the border between Belgium and the Netherlands, 't Zwin

I'm a regular visitor for almost 40 years now.

On Wednesday: sun, wind and rain... we had it all!

The land in the sun is just across the border and therefore Dutch territory...

Done beachcombing in Belgium we crossed the border to meet some good friends...

We'll be back again... next week! (big smile)
